Press Release -- Inventec Corporation 2023 AGM meeting

Inventec Corporation (TPE: 2356) held their 2023 Annual Reports & Shareholders’ Meeting on June 13. In addition to accepting the 2023 financial statements and net income disposition, the board elected Li-Cheng (Sam) Yeh as Chairperson and Chih-An (Jack) Tsai, the former Enterprise Business Group President, as President.

Inventec pledges to strengthen existing laptop, server, and wearable device business units and follow the new business development themes of ABCDE5G (AI, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Data Science, ESG, and 5G) announced by Tom Cho, the former chairperson, while continuing its recent investments in automotive electronics, medical, 5G, and industrial computer products. Inventec is pursuing two avenues of future growth. First, emphasize sustainable growth of existing businesses, cultivate new markets and clients, and provide resources and opportunities for existing businesses to grow. Second, with nearly 50 years of experience in information and communication technologies, Inventec will nurture more forward-looking brands and new businesses, providing needed support for their successful and sustainable growth.

AI has become an exciting topic this year, and Inventec’s AI applications, both in enterprise and cloud data centers, have achieved substantial results and praise by customers. Not only has Inventec built edge computing products for brand-name server customers, Inventec has also focused on customizing designs to meet cloud clients’ demands for deep learning, training, and machine learning by maximizing the synergies between CPU and GPU.

Laptops have long been one of Inventec’s core businesses. In addition to continued development in commercial and business models, Inventec has successfully extended its capabilities to gaming laptops and yielded excellent results.

As for smart devices, in addition to existing acoustic products, AIOT, 5G CPE modules, and hot spot devices that have driven market demand, Inventec has entered into the development of game consoles and associated peripheral products. Both are expected to render substantial growth next year.

In the area of automotive electronics, Inventec understands that the automobile industry requires local service and manufacturing. To date, in addition to its many years of experience with automotive electronics production, Inventec has obtained IATF 16949 certifications, an international specification in the automotive industry for quality management. This year, Inventec’s factories in the Czech Republic and Mexico will each obtain IATF 16949 certifications and begin mass-producing automotive electronics, serving clients primarily in Europe, North America, Japan, and China.

5G private networks continue as a growth area. Inventec has collaborated with Microsoft in core networks and successfully applied them to NEXCOM’s smart factory. This success was widely promoted by Microsoft at MWC this year. In the adjacent area of information security, Inventec continues collaborating with CTOne, a subsidiary of Trend Micro, and became its partner to sell and establish 5G private network information security systems that provide comprehensive information security solution plans for smart factories and accelerate the secure realization of clients’ 5G applications.

Inventec continues to promote sustainable development, with net-zero carbon emissions as the ultimate goal. Inventec’s Sustainable Development Committee has established the Inventec 2030 Sustainable Development Plan with three major sustainability strategies, namely a low-carbon economy, corporate responsibility, and the creation of a sustainable ecosystem, reflecting Inventec’s determined focus on sustainability.
