Inventec and VicOne Collaborate to Develop Smart and Secure Vehicle Cockpit Systems

Inventec Corporation (TWSE: 2356) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with VicOne, a global leader in automotive cybersecurity. VicOne will provide its xZETA vulnerability scanning and Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) management system to enhance the cybersecurity of Inventec’s smart vehicle cockpit systems, ensuring compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 standards. As automotive manufacturers increasingly prioritize cybersecurity to address new threats and comply with international regulations such as the UN R155, Inventec aims to meet the cybersecurity needs of its automotive customers as its highest design and manufacturing goal.

Inventec, leveraging its high-performance computing system technology, has extended its decades of experience into the automotive electronics field in recent years, focusing on vehicle computing, zonal gateways, and user experience applications and optimization. Inventec’s smart vehicle cockpit systems offer human-machine interfaces and vehicle onboard diagnostic systems, integrated with V2X network connectivity, providing high computing power and robust functionality, transforming next-generation vehicle cockpits into a third living space for drivers. Major global automakers are gradually adopting multifunctional smart cockpit solutions.

According to the latest data analysis provided by VicOne’s cybersecurity threat research team, the financial losses caused by vehicle cyberattacks have exceeded billions of dollars. Therefore, in addition to known vulnerabilities, accurately identifying zero-day risks has become crucial. VicOne’s xZETA can automatically generate SBOMs and perform vulnerability scans. By combining its unique automotive threat intelligence database, it can automatically correlate intelligence with relevant vulnerabilities, allowing users to understand the attack chain when notified. With VicOne’s xZETA, Inventec can quickly identify and resolve high-risk issues and develop corresponding strategies to ensure product safety, providing reliable and secure products and services to its customers.

Lino Li, Vice President of Inventec’s Automotive Electronics Business Unit, stated, “Inventec is committed to designing and manufacturing smart and secure automotive products. In terms of ‘smart,’ we continue to collaborate with global chip leaders to launch more powerful and efficient products. In terms of ‘security,’ our partnership with VicOne aims to leverage VicOne’s cybersecurity expertise to set a new benchmark for automotive industry safety.”

VicOne CEO, Max Cheng, said, “We are excited to partner with Inventec. Our excellent automotive vulnerability and SBOM management system, xZETA, provides unique intelligence on zero-day vulnerabilities and a more comprehensive and accurate approach to product risk management. We hope to help clients meet the ISO/SAE 21434 automotive cybersecurity standard, comply with the UN R155 regulation, and improve vehicle operational efficiency more swiftly. Inventec and VicOne will continue to collaborate across R&D, business, and marketing efforts, striving forward together to create smart and secure vehicles for our clients.”
