In the 1990・s, Inventec faced a market that was changing significantly and the company realized that its strategy must change as well. The average rate of new patent disclosures in 2005 exceeded 30 per month. Currently, Inventec holds approximately 2950 patents worldwide, and more than 100 patents are filed per month. Inventec ranked third for number of filed patents and sixth for number of granted patents in 2005 according to the Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Economic Office, Taiwan. In the 2005 Business Week survey entitled :The 100 Top Companies Patent Scorecard;, Inventec topped other Taiwanese computer system companies in the measurement of a company・s Essential Technology Strength (ETS).
