In 2001, the Inventec Group established the Inventec Corporation in Caohejing Hi-tech Park in Shanghai in order to meet the increasing importance of the China market and to improve its overall manufacturing capabilities, Since then, this new manufacturing site has become the leading center for the mass production of notebooks and servers. In 2004, Inventec Group further expanded in China by establishing Inventec Pudong Campus in Shanghai Caohejing Export Processing Zone with a total investment exceeding US$ 420 million. The Campus will eventually house one R&DCenter, one logistics center and eight factories. Being The Pudong Campus serves not only the domestic market in China, but also the worldwide market.
The total capacity of Factory One and Two are 10 million notebooks per year, after an investment of over US$ 250 million. In 2005, Inventec invested an additional US$ 120 million in building Factory Three with 120,000 square meters of floor space. This new assembly line is capable of manufacturing 2 million servers per year. Inventec continues to enlarge its manufacturing capability in Pudong and will complete two new factories in 2007. The Pudong Campus will manage the complete product life cycle from design and development to after-sales service for diversified servers, storage devices, notebook computers, mobile product lines, and consumer electronic devices.
